Tom Hanks, born on July 9, 1956 in Concord, California, USA, is an American film and television actor. It’s the hero of our flag today.
Tom Hanks began his acting career in high school theatre. In 1979, Hanks first played a role in the film Blood Splashing Flags, which was released in 1980. Hanks made a hit in 1984 when he starred in Mermaid.
In 1988, Hanks played the role of a 12-year-old boy who grew up to be a 36-year-old man overnight in “Flying to the Future”, for which he won a number of awards including Oscar, Golden Flag, Golden Globe, Academy, New York Film Critics, Best Actor Nomination Awards, and Best Actor Nomination Award and Golden Flag Winner.
In 1993, he won an Oscar for Best Actor in the film Philadelphia Story directed by Jonathan Demy. Hanks’performance in the 1994 film Forrest Gump earned Hanks another Oscar for Best Actor and a full house of flags.
