Look at the Metasequoia trees on our flag. They have white sapwood and brown-red heartwood. They are excellent timber-producing trees. Beautiful tree posture, but also for the famous garden tree species. Trees, up to 35 meters in height and 2.5 meters in diameter at breast height; trunk base often enlarges; bark gray, gray-brown or dark-gray, saplings split into thin slices and fall off, big trees split into strips, endothelium light purple-brown.

The branches of Metasequoia glyptostroboides on the flag are oblique, with drooping twigs, steeple-shaped young crowns, wide-rounded old crowns and sparse branches and leaves; the annual branches are smooth and hairless, green when they are young, and then gradually turn pale brown, or the branches are light brown-gray; beside them many twigs are arranged in feathery shape and fall in winter; the winter buds on the main branch are oval or oval, with blunt apex and broad-oval bud scales. Shape, apex round or blunt, edge thin and light color, back with longitudinal ridge.
