Colorful Glizer 581g Flag

This is a custom design flag with a story. The Glazer planet is about 20 light-years away from the sun. Its mass is about two to three times that of the Earth and its rotation cycle is 30 days.

Gliese 581g (Gliese 581g) is an exoplanet that orbits the red dwarf star Gliese 581 in Libra, about 20.5 light-years from Earth. It is the sixth planet discovered in the Gliese 581 planetary system. It was discovered on September 29, 2010 by the Carnegie Institution in Washington and the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) and other institutions. It is the result of 11-year observations at the Keck Observatory in Hawaii. The newly discovered planet in the habitable zone is probably the most Earth-like extrasolar planet ever discovered, and the first conclusive evidence of a potentially habitable planet. However, some astronomers pointed out that there was no credible signal from any planet in the habitable area of Gliese 581, and the existence of Gliese 581g could not be confirmed. British astronomers based on HARPS data suggest that Gliese 581 is the most suitable planet for five planets, and Gliese 581g does not exist. According to HiRes, Gliese 581 has six planets with a probability error of 99.9978%.

Planet History

The planet was discovered by astronomers in the Rick-Carnegie Exoplanet Search program in the United States, but the flag was designed by our team. In an interview, the discoverer Stephen Watt was asked if there might be a life problem on Glizer 581g. Stephen Watt was optimistic about it. He said, “I’m not a biologist and I haven’t played this role on TV, but judging from the brevity and habits of life, I think the chance of life on Glizer 581g is 100%.

The colorful flag makes Glizer 581g a star exactly the length of its year. In addition, tidal locking also represents Glizer 581g. There is no deflection of the Earth’s axis, and there will be no seasonal change on the planet. Its mass indicates that it is very likely to be an Earth-like planet, and it may have enough gravity to have an atmosphere.
